Architecture buffs, take note — York author, photographer and preservation expert Scott Butcher is releasing a new book on the Keystone State’s historic architecture.
The book, “Historic Architecture of Pennsylvania,” will be revealed in a pre-book release party to be held in conjunction with First Friday this week.
Sponsored by Historic York, Inc., in partnership with the Pennsylvania Arts Experience, the event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Pennsylvania Arts Experience gallery in the Marketview Arts building, 37 W. Philadelphia St., York.
It is billed as an opportunity for history enthusiasts and gift-givers to pre-order a copy that will be signed and delivered when books are delivered from the publisher. Historic York, Inc., will sell the books for $40, discounted to $30 for HYI members.
“Historic Architecture of Pennsylvania” covers buildings in York, Adams, Dauphin, Lancaster, Cumberland and Lebanon counties, plus narrative on the area’s 300 years of architectural styles.
