DVD available at York County libraries for parents, teachers of students who stutter

Stuttering: Straight Talk for TeachersIf you’re a parent of a child who stutters, or a teacher with a stutterer in your class, The Stuttering Foundation has produced a DVD with you in mind. “Stuttering: Straight Talk for Teachers” is a 20-minute film ¬†that “helps parents and teachers understand how stuttering can affect children of all ages in the classroom,” according to a release.

The DVD features speech-language pathologists Bill Murphy, M.A., of Purdue University and Kristin Chmela, M.A., of Northwestern University and focused on practical strategies for the classroom and at home.

The following York County libraries received a copy of the DVD and agreed to shelve it. Check in with your branch for details.
