Snag a free copy of ‘The Playful Family’ by Shawn Ledington Fink

"The Playful Family" ebook by Shawn Ledington FinkWest Manchester Township mom and blogger Shawn Ledington Fink is giving away free downloads of her e-book “The Playful Family” today and tomorrow, Feb. 7 and Feb. 8.

Compiled from a series of posts from her blog, “Awesomely Awake,” the book focuses on “parenting from the heart. Fink described this in a 2012 Q&A as “walking through life with your eyes and your hearts wide open. You can say that I’m on a mission to create happier parents, which hopefully will create a world of happier communities.”

Fink explained how her book came to be:

“The e-book was actually a challenge by a friend who has been encouraging me to earn a profit. I’m great at writing and marketing but terrible at selling. In July, I hosted a free e-course to test the waters on people interested in what I have to say. Over 300 people signed up! The e-book was the product I chose to try to sell to them when the course was over. I’m still working on the sales side of my blog.

The book was written over the last six months in a series of blog posts. When I looked back over what I had already written, playing with your children and playing as a family really stood out as a common theme. I took those words and turned them into a book to sell. After a week or so, I published it on Kindle, which sort of took the book to a new level. It has sold pretty well — far exceeding my expectations but I am far from ending up on the New York Times Bestsellers list!”
