The NewsVroom plans a visit to Martin Library

NewsVroomOn Wednesday, March 13, assistant sports editor Brittany Wilson, editorial page editor Scott Fisher and I (books editor Sarah Chain) will head down to Martin Library in the NewsVroom.

It’s part of our Year at the York County Libraries, a monthly series we kicked off in January at Dover Area Community Library and continued in February at Paul Smith Library of Southern York County. So far, we’ve talked about what it means to work in a newsroom, and how we incorporate social media into our daily routines (and how the community can benefit from it!).

This month, we’re focusing on best blogging practices — how to build a blog, reach your audience, and attract new readers. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., we welcome community members to join us with questions, ideas and comments as we detail what has worked (or not worked) for our newsroom blogs at yorkblog.com — and how you can adapt those practices.

What’s on tap for April? A session on taking better photos and different ways to share them with family and the community, scheduled for 4 p.m. April 15 at Glatfelter Memorial Library, 101 Glenview Drive, Spring Grove. Photo editor Eileen Joyce will be our expert — stay tuned for details!
