What do book lovers enjoy almost as much as reading a book? Talking about it, of course! A group of us here at the Daily Record/Sunday News has decided to take our book talk beyond the newsroom.
We'll share what we like, and what we don't, about the books we are reading. This will also be the place to find out about local authors, new releases, upcoming book signings and what's going on at the York County libraries.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ makes ALA’s annual list of most challenged books
“Fifty Shades of Grey” by E.L. James made the American Library Association’s list of most challenged books for 2012, but Dav Pilkey’s “Captain Underpants” took the No. 1 spot.

York County Libraries, York County Literacy Council partner for ‘York Reads!’
York County Libraries and the York County Literacy Council are partnering together for “York Reads!”, a joint initiative to promote literacy in York County.

ALA announces 2013 Youth Media Award winners
The American Library Association announces the winners for the 2013 Youth Media Awards Jan. 28, 2013.
Macmillan will begin lending e-books to libraries
Macmillan will begin its two-year pilot project for lending e-books to libraries by the end of March 2013. More than 1200 backlist titles will be available for two years or 52 circulations, whichever comes first.
