Some don’t miss posts and more

Here are some of my fav posts for the week along with some other stuff.
1. I cracked up when I read Amy Gulli’s post on parenting resolutions for the new year. Her Because I’m the Mommy blog is always a treat.
2. If you haven’t checked out Caryn Rupert’s Beyond the Beaten Craft blog, do yourself a favor and put it on your must-see list. This week, Caryn showed how to repair fingerless knit gloves. She had blogged earlier about how to knit a pair. I’m a huge fan of fingerless gloves. Many of my colleagues wear them. They make it easy to type yet keep your hands warm at the same time.
3. Take a walk down memory lane with this cool tribute to TV shows of the 60s. I was familiar with all but a few of them. You can also watch cartoons from the 60s.
4. Some local “faces” to follow on Twitter include Sarah Mock (@HowIPinchAPenny). She shares tons of great advice on how to save money. You can also find her here. You can also follow her hubs, Bob, @Bobmock. Another must-follow from the twitterverse is Mary Yeaple (@paradelady) who loves all-things Irish and has 40 shades of green in her closet.
5. Since I love the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” I must mention Jim McClure’s York Town Square post in which he mentioned this film. The post is about Loyer’s Pharmacy in Red Lion, Pa., that recently closed. The post includes a cool photo from the 1930s when it was known as Strock’s Drug Store. And, just like the pharmacy in the film, this one contained a soda fountain.
6. Susan Jennings checks in with two of her favorite Marines on The Yellow Ribbon blog. Check in to see what they had to say.
7. Having trouble fitting exercise into your already crammed day? Pop over to Leigh Zaleski’s York Lite blog for some great tips.
8. Looking for live music in the area? Erin McCracken’s York winter music roundup lists who’s playing where on Flipside, the No. 1 entertainment website and blog in southcentral Pennsylvania.
9. If you have kids, don’t miss this opportunity to win a family four-pack of tickets to Madagascar at the Pullo Center.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Check back tomorrow for info about a freebie.
