Free to Tweet scholarship competition for high school and college students

First Amendment Center’s Free to Tweet scholarship competition begins Dec. 1 and runs 15 days.

The effort is focused on raising public awareness of the First Amendment — especially among younger people.

Students in high school and college can tweet their support for the First Amendment using the hash tag #FreeToTweet for a chance to win one of five $5,000 scholarships. A panel of educators and First Amendment experts will judge the entries.

This effort is sponsored by ASNE and other leading journalism organizations. Updates on the event can be followed on Twitter at @FreeToTweet2012.
