I'm waiting for Michelle Obama to start talking now. I might as well do some blogging.
I checked in with the York County delegates earlier today. It sounds like they're having a pretty exciting time of it.
Last night, they went to a concert at Red Rocks, which featured Sheryl Crow, Sugarland and the Dave Matthews Band. Apparently, they spotted Ed Rendell there, and all three got their picture taken with him.
This morning, they got a chance to talk to Sen. Bob Casey Jr. after a breakfast for the Pennsylvania delegates.
But Michele Bortner of York got the story of the day. She ran into Joe Biden on the street, and got her picture taken with him.
Bortner said she was walking around downtown Denver with her friend Susan Rutt of Allentown, who is president of the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women, looking for someplace to grab some lunch.
They noticed a commotion, and wandered over to see what was going on. A bunch of reporters were following Biden.
Bortner was surprised to see him. She'd heard that he wasn't due in for a few more days.
She called out "Hey Joe! We're from Pennsylvania!" Biden, of course, is originally from here.
She said they talked for a little bit. Just introductions and well-wishes, basically. After Biden continued on, reporters surrounded Bortner and Rutt. Who were they? They must be important if Biden stopped to talk to them.
Bortner said she spoke to the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune. Best of all, she got her photo taken with Biden.
John Burkett, the other York County delegate, is supposed to e-mail that picture tomorrow morning. As soon as I get it, I'll post it up here.
