From Eugene DePasquale

I should get back in the habit of posting press releases from local lawmakers and candidates. I consider this valuable because:

1) It informs the residents of this community about things that may be of interest to them, and ...

2) It's tantamount to other people doing my work for me. And I'd like to encourage that as much as possible, because it frees up time for me to play "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" on my Playstation. So here's a release from the Democrats' communications office in the stateHouse of Representatives.

YORK, Sept. 17 - State Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-West Manchester, invites area students to his 2008 College and Career Fair, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at Hannah Penn Middle School (cafeteria), 415 E. Boundary Ave., York.

"Many students are just not sure what they want to do when they graduate high school so I wanted to provide a venue that brings many of the options together under one roof," DePasquale said. "Some are interested in attending college, some are thinking about joining the armed forces, and others are looking to start a career. Whatever it may be, this event will provide valuable information to help students make a decision that is best for them."

DePasquale said the fair will feature representatives from accredited colleges, universities and other educational institutions, as well as agencies and organizations that can assist students in finding financial aid, scholarships and other funding opportunities. Also, career service representatives and organizations will be on hand to offer career guidance to students interested in joining the workforce.

More information can be obtained by contacting DePasquale's constituent service office at 717-848-9595 or by visiting his Web site at www.pahouse.com/depasquale.
