GOP candidate in 95th

Here's a news release from Lon Emenheiser, a York resident who is running as the Republican candidate for the state House of Representatives' 95th district.

He'll be running against Democratic incumbent state Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-West Manchester. Interestingly enough, Lon's wife, Karen, ran unsuccessfully against DePasquale in 2006. Like her husband, she ran as a Republican in a predominantly Democratic district.

The couple had just moved to York County from North Carolina in 2002. Whether you support them politically or not, you have to give them credit for their willingness to get involved in the civic life of their new community.

And ... the press release:

The Emenheiser campaign proudly announces his endorsement by Firearms Owners Against Crime. This endorsement comes to Candidate Emenheiser for his unwavering support of the second amendment and his belief that Pennsylvanian's have a right to bear arms and defend themselves or their families. "I support the Second Amendment. We have the right to keep and bear arms. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed upon or questioned by me", said Candidate for the 95th Legislative House district Lon Emenheiser R-York City. "Our government should be punishing those who commit crime. Our Pennsylvania lawmakers and city public officials should not be placing additional restrictions or requirements on law abiding citizens just for owning firearms", said Candidate Emenheiser.

The Firearm Owners Against Crime (FOAC) is a non-partisan, non-connected Political Action Committee formed in 1993. They took a politically active role in defending our rights to own and use guns. The FOAC aggressively oppose lawmakers who try to restrict legitimate uses of firearms. The FOAC believe personal and property protection is guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The FOAC will be distributing a Voter's Guide throughout the Commonwealth. The Voter's Guide is posted on the FOAC web site at www.foac-pac.org.
