Dreaming of a Green Christmas

| | Comments (0)

The York County Green Party is still hanging in there. This is from their Website:

November 7th, 2008
We will be holding a Greens Holiday Party at our regular meeting place, GreenLine Paper in York. This will be a pot-luck event so bring food and drink and good cheer. We will also take a look at the available positions for next year's elections.
When: Thurs. December 11th, 7:00 PM
Where: 631 S. Pine Street in York
Directions or Questions: Call 717-845-8697

Their Adams County counterparts, however, aren't faring as well.

This is from the Adams County Green Party Website. The entry is dated Nov. 5 -- the day after the election, of course.

Hello All,
Sigh, yesterday the Adams Greens lost their "political committee" status, since we ran no candidate, ie. did not qualify for the 'magic 5%' of highest county-wide vote total. When the Penna. Green Party lost their minor party committee status in 2006, we were the Local that kept ours the longest, by that mechanism.
Now that accomplishment is past, as well as our seven years of environmental work. I would like to thank all our former and present members for their efforts. Our former Chair, Courtney Wege, and I resigned from our posts last night when the polls closed; our by-laws are now lapsed.
If anyone would like to re-start the Adams Green Party, we wish you well. We the former members will continue to work for the environment, and await the birth of a new political party which will carry on this crucial work, for this our devastated home planet, Earth.
Thank You,
Thom Marti, former Sec'y ADCOGP
