Blah blog

Sorry if the blog seemed lackluster this week. I threw out my back on Monday, and I've been scurrying out of here early all week to ice it. I'll be back to my chipper self next week.

Just a couple of brief observations before it's scurryin' time:

1) Still no state budget. I've got a story coming out Sunday about how a lot of agencies that get state funding are starting to get antsy. Not having a final figure from the state nearly two months after the budget was supposed to be passed is causing them some major accounting headaches.

2) The folks who brought you the Teabag protests are marching again. Here's some news from the local contigent:

A group of local residents will join the Taxpayer March on D.C. Sept. 12.

Sponsors include the Frdeedom Works Foundation, Club for Growth, National Taxpayers Union, Americans for Tax Reform and Young Americans for Liberty

Locally, buses will leave at 7 a.m. from the Kmart parking lot on Haines Road in Springettsbury Township and arrive approximately 9 a.m. at the U.S. Capitol. They will leave at 5 p.m. to return to York. The cost will be $15 per person. Participants can bring their own lunch and drinks, but restaurants are available within walking distance

If you wish to attend, call 757-4260, 235-9252 or 235-5347 before Sept. 4. The deadline for checks is Sept. 8.
