A William Penn High School student will be performing with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band in the Thanksgiving parade this year.
Rashida King was selected to be a part of the band, Supt. Sharon Miller said at a recent meeting. Rashida plays the tenor saxophone.
The band will include 185 musicians accompanied by 50 flags and dancers, according to the band website.
I’m commenting on my own blog entry to update. The city schools spokesman says a second student has also been selected to participate. Jananne Ferrere will also be marching in the parade.
