Have ideas for the York City School District budget?

I just noticed a new way you can provide input on the York City School District’s 2012-13 budget.

Visit the district website, and you’ll see a link that says “your help is requested!” Click that, and you’ll get a form that you can fill out, sharing your ideas for “recreating” the school district. It has a place for your idea and the potential cost savings.

Anyone have any ideas? The deadline to submit is Friday, Jan. 20.

To recap, the city school district started with a projected deficit of about $19 million for 2012-13 – that was with flat tax revenue though. The proposed preliminary budget estimates the district could raise taxes by up to 17 percent, in which case the deficit would be reduced to about $14 million.
