Students are helping Habitat build houses

Students from schools around York County have been helping out at Habitat for Humanity.

A news release from Habitat detailed how they’ve been helping:

  • Electrical students at YTI Career Institute completed wiring for homes at 355 and 357 E. Poplar St., York
  • Students from York County School of Technology use Habitat as part of their curriculum and hands-on training, and volunteer at least once a month at Habitat construction sites
  • Students from Dover Area High School and York Country Day School volunteered on Jan. 20 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
  • York College’s Habitat for Humanity Chapter has committed to fund and renovate a home at 37 W. Jackston St., York. Students took on the challenge as freshmen and plan to be done by graduation in 2013. They’re out every other Saturday.

This wasn’t in the news release, but Red Lion Area School District students have also been helping with Habitat houses there.

What other organizations are students volunteering with?
