Apple Ford event will benefit Red Lion schools; previous event helped Dallastown schools

Apple Ford in Red Lion will host “Go Further with Ford Night” from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the dealership on Cape Horn Road, according to a news release.

The attendees will have a chance to test drive and win a 2013 Ford Fusion, as well as win tickets to a live taping of American Idol, and there will be refreshments and door prizes.

Ford will donate $5 for each pre-registered attendee to go towards the Red Lion Area Educational Foundation, the release says. You can register here.

It’s not the first time the dealership has helped a local school.

Earlier this year, Apple Ford raised $6,000 through the annual Drive One 4UR School event for the Dallastown Area Educational Association. The funds went toward Dallastown Area High School’s “Project Turf,” an effort to fund a new turf field through the foundation and without tax dollars, the release says.

Dallastown Area High School students also won first place in the “Drive One” student video contest, winning $10,000 for “Project Turf.”

Watch their video below! They will receive the check at the Thursday event.
