York City School Board will meet Jan. 2 to fill empty seat

The York City School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 2, according to a notice from the district, to interview candidates and choose someone to take Beverly Atwater’s seat on the board.

The board declared Atwater’s seat vacant on Dec. 4, saying she was no longer a city resident. The board has 30 days to appoint someone to the spot.

The district sought candidates and received two resumesĀ  by deadline, from: Warren Bailey, who was previously principal at Logos Academy, and Jose Santiago, a plant/production manager at True Precision Plastics.
