York College to host high schools in Model UN competition

York College of Pennsylvania will host the first YCP High School Model United Nations competition on April 6.

Local high school students will represent member states of the UN and debate pressing global issues ranging from nuclear proliferation to human trafficking, according to a news release.

Any schools that are interested should contact Professor Scott Gyenes at 815-6736 or sgyenes@ycp.edu, or Shawna Thomas, YCP Model United Nations secretary general at sthoma11@ycp.edu.

Deadline to register is Jan. 25, 2013.  The event is sponsored by the college’s history and political science department as well as students in the college’s Model UN course.
