York County essay contest offers top prize of $2,000 for high school juniors and seniors

The York County commissioners and York County Communities that Care are organizing a new essay contest to be sponsored by Memorial Health Systems.

York County students in 11th and 12th grades can enter, and 28 students will share in a total of $6,000 in prizes, according to a news release. The top prize will be $2,000.

Students will be asked to describe the challenges facing York County teens and what the community could do to help. The contest is designed to build on the results of the Pennsylvania Annual Youth Survey, the release says.

The deadline is Feb. 15.  For details, visit yorkcountypa.gov or yorkcountyctc.org.
