Julia Hines-Harris honored with school board proclamation

Yesterday, we reported on the sad news that Julia Hines-Harris, a longtime York City educator, passed away on Monday.

Community leaders spoke of her commitment to education, and students and parents remembered her in the comments on the story.

The York City School Board honored her with a proclamation, which you can read below (click the box with the four arrows to make the document full screen).

Board President Margie Orr said she knew Hines-Harris all of her life.

“She was a beautiful person,” Orr said. She said that the memorial service is to take place in the William Penn Senior High School auditorium, a “fitting place for us to remember her.”
