York County essay contest offers top prize of $2,000 for high school juniors and seniors
The York County commissioners and York County Communities that Care are organizing a new essay contest that includes a top prize of $2,000.
Thinking about running for school board? This meeting is for you.
A panel discussion, “What You Need to Know About Serving on a School Board,” will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 at York Suburban Middle School, according to a news release.
York College rugby teams raise money for breast cancer
York College’s men’s and women’s rugby teams raised $1,300 in their first Ruck Cancer fundraiser game on Saturday, said Jason Steinmetz, men’s rugby president.

Student Media Awards and a dramatic performance by New Hope Academy Charter School students will be featured during the York County Heritage Trust’s Articles of Confederation Day on Nov. 18.
Hanover groups plan fundraising theater workshop for kids
The Hanover Public School District’s drama department and the Parents Association Supporting Theatre Arts (PASTA) will hold a Theatre for Kids program Nov. 10 in the Hanover High School auditorium.

A team of students from York County School of Technology won second place in an engineering competition at Widener University on Oct. 24.
Lincoln Charter School looks to send student to Middle School Presidential Inaugural Conference
Michael Parker, a fifth grader at Lincoln Charter School, was selected to attend the Middle School Presidential Inaugural Conference in Washington D.C., according to the school, and now he could use some help.
