That was the question that came to mind when the governor signed an execution warrant for Mark Spotz the day after Hubert Michael got a stay of execution.
The stay came on Nov. 8, just hours before Michael was scheduled for execution. A spokesperson for the Department of Corrections couldn’t recall anyone coming that close to lethal injection in decades.
Corbett signed Spotz’s death warrant on Nov. 9 although his office did not publicize that fact until Nov. 13.
I spent Nov. 14 trying to figure out if Corbett had a death wish for York County killers. The answer was not near as Hollywood.
It was, in fact, by the book.
