The Child Abuse Prevention/Outreach Committee is planning its 6th annual Walk and Family Fun Day to end child abuse.

The walk, set at Penn Park at 100 West College Ave. in York, will be 10 a.m. April 12.

The 1.2 mile walk around the city is rain or shine. Leashed dogs are welcome. There will be a bounce house, face painting, balloon animals and refreshments. According to the CAPOC Facebook page, Darisabel Baez, a 2-year-old York girl who died in 2008 after being beaten by her mother’s boyfriend, would have turned 8 this year.

The cost to participate in the walk is $10, or $15 with a t-shirt.

For more information, call 717-849-8496. If you suspect child abuse or neglect, call ChildLine at 800-932-0313.
