Exhibits, food vendors, tours, music, and an educational scavenger hunt.... it's all part of Rivertownes PA USA's River Road Excursion/Fun Rally and RiverFest 2007 Sunday along the Susquehanna.
Start by stopping into the Musselman/Vesta Iron Furnace office building in Marietta between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to register, pick up a map, directions and a puzzle. Then, follow the clues along winding roads and through scenic countryside along the river.
Some highlights of the journey include: Wright's Ferry Bridge, Columbia River Park, Blue Rock Heritage Center, Tucquan Glen, Holtwood Pinnacle Overlook, Norman Wood Bridge, Susquehanna Tidewater Canal, and Shank's Mare outfitters.
You'll also be close enough for stops at The Indian Steps Museum or Moondancer Winery. End your travels in Wrightsville and spend the afternoon and evening chilling out on the grounds of the John Wright Restaurant and Store on North Front Street.
When you're done, go home and e-mail me a snapshot for us to post in our "Wish You Were Here" online gallery and on the travel page of the Sunday Lifestyle section.
