My turn
The past few posts on this blog have been nothing but pictures of readers who want to say to the collective you: "Don't you wish you were here?"
Sure, rub it in.
Don't get me wrong. I love seeing where York County folks are traveling. And I'm glad they take the time to share photos and travel tips from their trips.
But when I have to read and post more than one of these a week, it starts to get to me, because yes, dammit, I really DO wish I was there. Really.
Instead, I'm usually just sitting in my cubicle in a frozen office without windows, working until smoke comes out of my ears. Posting pictures of other people having fun in cool places.
Grrr.
This weekend, it was my turn.
Yep, those are my ugly feet atop my yellow kayak, floating in my lake in that picture.
Technically, the lake belongs to the citizens of Pennsylvania since it's at Cowans Gap State Park, but my family has been camping there for a week each summer for as long as I can remember, so I feel a bit of ownership.
Cowans Gap is the place where I learned how to roast marshmallows to perfection, use the oars on my dad's rowboat without going in circles, and, most importantly, where I learned how to relax. (This is not easy for me.)
Because I am sufficiently relaxed and have spent minimal time in the office so far this week, I can confidently invite you to send me more photos and travel tips from your journeys near and far.
C'mon -- make me jealous (or just take me along next time) !!

You are so right - Cowans Gap is the place where I, too, have found the perfect place for relaxation. Can't say I have yet mastered how to roast a marshmallow to perfection, but I sure do have a blast trying to perfect it!! Great post!! Thanks for sharing!!
