Joshua Guyer, 10, of Dover Township visited the Mayan ruins of Tulum in Mexico while vacationing along the Riviera Maya in June. His other excursions included swimming with dolphins and manatees, parasailing, and deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean.
His travel tip: Take extra bottles of water when visiting the Tulum ruins, as there is little shade. Wear a swimsuit and bring along a change of clothes, also. The excursion isn't complete without a dip in the Caribbean at the beach below.
That's so cool! When I went to Cozumel, Mexico, I saw Mayan ruins, but they were just piles of rubble. It was very sad to see what the weather had done to such ancient wonders. It took a lot of imagination to picture what went on there so long ago. Next time, I'll check these out!
