Sorry about the lapse in posts. I was super-busy getting ready to leave for two weeks in Argentina and putting the finishing touches on a story that runs this coming Sunday (24th - check it out!) while I´m gone, so I apologize.
To make up for it, I am taking a bit of my vacation time to check in and write a few words. I am typing this on a very cruddy keyboard with funky symbols (although I´m sure once I get used to it, it would come in handy when I do Spanish translations and have to type in Spanish).
I don´t think i´ll be adding pictures to these posts until later (too difficult and limited computer time) so you´ll have to be content with words until I return and can spiff up these posts with pictures.
Last night, I got to lie down for the first time in 48 hours. It was REALLY nice. What wasn´t nice was trying to sleep in the middle seat of a plane during a 10-hour overnight flight. I managed to drift off a couple times, but nothing of any substance.
Now that I am well rested and have figured out how to log into our blogging platform from afar, I will report that Argentina is a pretty nice country. More European than the other South American countries I´ve been to (Venezuela and Ecuador). I don´t stick out like such a sore thumb for my red hair and fair skin, but when I open my mouth, they can tell I´m not from here because I don´t have the Argentine accent that turns the "ll" or "y" sound into "sh" and the lilting Italian-sounding way of speaking Spanish. Plus, Im accustomed to using "tu" instead of "vos" for informally addressing people, but I´m slowly adapting my speech.
Stay tuned for more reports from the southern hemisphere.

I couldn't post a blog from home, yet you can post from Argentina....AMAZING! I can't wait to hear all about the trip!
