Man versus nature
To continue with the string of posts from my weekend in and around Ohiopyle State Park, I offer you this crazy example of man versus nature.
Two friends and I were enjoying the natural waterslides (more on that later) and swimming in the river when we saw
a football coach from an Ohio school (I forget which, sorry!) joking to the team that they should stop up the small waterfall with their bodies.
Being teenage boys and athletes, they were up for the challenge.
It was funny to watch how, over the course of about 15 minutes, more and more boys came to clot the leaks in the human dam, calling out to wayward teammates to come plug the gaps.
Then I spotted the four adults -- the coaches, no doubt -- sitting above the falls, watching with amusement. A crowd began to gather and soon enough, the football team from Ohio taking on nature was more impressive than the nature itself.
