Oooh, pretty

fw-resized.jpgI snapped these photos of fireworks over the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg Sunday evening with my little point-and-shoot camera. I wasn't sure how they'd come out because I had never attempted to take firework photos with a point-and-shoot and without a tripod.

Not bad, eh?

I think the three keys are:
1. No flash (duh, otherwise you won't see the colorful bursts)
2. Hold the camera steady
3. Anticipate. Soon as you hear the firework going up, try to anticipate when and where it will burst and hit the button before you see it. Point-and-shoot cameras are so slow that if you push the button once you see the burst, the camera will miss it.
