Visionary art

bldng.jpgCheck out my story in today's paper about the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. Friend and coworker Melissa Burke (YDR's religion reporter and a Baltimore resident) raved about the current exhibit and suggested the museum might make a good backyard travel for cash-strapped locals looking for a nearby day trip.

This sign first caught my eye for the shorthand "4give," but when I looked closer, I noticed it was made from pennies!4give.jpg

Check out this man, made entirely from electrical wire. Very intricate and cool. And then there's this one, one of the first pieces I saw when I went into the museum was this crazy colorful assemblage by James Harrold. Lots to look at.

I loved your story today. Makes me want to go back and visit again! We'll have to go see the next exhibition when it arrives in September. Teresa says the restaurant is cool.
