Elf Day

P1020074.JPGToday, I take a break from the regular fodder on this blog to get you in the holiday spirit.

Saturday, I hosted my annual Elf Day. It's something I started four years ago when I decided it would be more fun to do seasonal chores such as addressing Christmas cards, baking cookies and wrapping presents with friends rather than by myself.

The apartment I lived in was pretty tiny, so for the first three years, it was a small event -- three or four friends, a few hours one December afternoon and some snacks. This year, I have a house with a larger living room, so I could expand the fun. The only problem was, I was so excited to have everyone there that I didn't get anything done. All I wanted to do was socialize!

Oh well.

I saw some creative gift wrapping, sampled some yummy cookies and got inspired to recycle my Christmas cards during next year's Elf Day -- if I can manage to get some work done.
