Logos Academy raising funds for new building

| | Comments (0)

Pastors and Logos Academy school leaders gathered Tuesday to kick off a $8 million capital campaign, hoping to raise enough to supplement the cost of a new building for the Christian school and a community playground at 256 W. King St. in York.

For 11 years, the K-8 school, which serves many low-income children, has rented space from three different churches in town. Leaders say that increasing enrollment and limited room in the host churches has forced them to look elsewhere for space to grow.

Several pastors from the community went on a prayer walk Tuesday and dedicated the construction site, which is near Crossroads Youth Center on West King Street.

You can virtually "walk around" the planned building at the Logos' Web site (or above).

The school was established in 1998 as a nonprofit, Christian school that intentionally stresses intercultural and socioeconomic diversity.
