The three riders will be joined in Middletown by other riders from the midstate synod for the 8-mile trip to Trinity Lutheran Church in Steelton. Read more about their trip and other destinations.
The clergy from Africa will be hosted by a local pastor, the Rev. Judy McKee of Union Lutheran Church. The regional Lower Susquehanna Synod of the ELCA has a relationship with the African diocese. About 35 congregations in central Pennsylvania have paired with a church in the Konde diocese. Their contact often includes an exchange of letters, prayer petitions, ideas, pictures and gifts.
The Tanzanian delegation will attend the synod assembly June 11-13 at Messiah College and travel the midstate preaching, speaking and sightseeing.
