Kowalczyk the solo artist and ‘rekindled’ Christian

York County native Ed Kowalczyk spoke about his faith in recent interview with CNN’s Belief blog: “I went through a whole seeker’s life,” he said.
Kowalczyk, the former frontman for Live, was born a Catholic but explored other traditions, including Zen Buddhism, in adulthood. The 38-year-old will soon be touring to promote his debut solo album “Alive,” out July 6, and says fans will see a “rekindled Ed” and one at peace as a Christian:
“I definitely feel the presence and continue to feel the presence of a higher power that I’m connected to in faith,” he said. “That’s God.”
Kowalczyk is scheduled to play at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., on Sept. 18 as part of the HFStival.
Read an interview with Kowalczyk from October when he performed at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York.
