Among the six deacons ordained Sunday at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Harrisburg is The Rev. Janet Brown, a social worker from Lititz, Lancaster County, who has been assigned to St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in York (that’s her pictured at bottom right).
The deacons ordained by Bishop Nathan Baxter of the Episcopal Diocese included three men and three women, who will assist parishes and ministries in the 24-county diocese.
The other new deacons are, from the left, the Revs.:
– Hank Morrow, an engineer from Elizabethtown assigned to St. Edward’s in Lancaster
– John Harwood, a tenured faculty member at Penn State assigned to Trinity Church in Renovo;
– Nancy Rementer of Marietta, a health-care professional assigned to St. John’s in Marietta;
– Loretta Collins, a school psychologist in Huntingdon assigned to St. Mark’s in Lewistown; and
– Charles Cruikshank, an industrial manager from Belleville assigned to St. John’s in Huntingdon.
