UPDATE 1: I have added all that I received today (Wednesday) and am off for March Madness the next two days. Going to try and approve comments from home to the Palm Sunday services appear here. This blog post will be briefed in the religion section tomorrow, so I’d like to have it updated as much as possible.

I did a blog post here listing Christmas services and it was so successful that I am repeating it for Easter.

Easter Sunday is coming up fast and I know that nearly every church in York County has special services and events planned for that day.

My plan is to list them all here. Then we will link to it from other places and publicize it through social media and the like.

For that, I need all the churches and pastors reading this to send me your info. Send your info to jhilton@ydr.com, or add it to the comments here.

I will add the information as soon as I am able. FYI: I am off Thursday, so please be patient. Everything will be listed by Monday afternoon.

Here is what I have so far:

Easter services: 

Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Carroll Township. Maundy Thursday at 7: 30 p.m. and Good Friday at 730 p.m. Easter Sunday services at 6:30, 8, and 10:30 a.m.

Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 12 N. Main St., Spring Grove. Maundy Thursday: Office of Tenebrae (Shadows) with Holy Communion around the table at 7:30 p.m. This year Mt. Zion will share its service with Christ United Church of Christ, Codorus.
Good Friday: Spring Grove Community Good Friday Service, presented by the Spring Grove Ministerium, at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 7 p.m.
Holy Saturday: The Great Vigil of Easter, beginning with the Lighting of the New Fire outside at 9 p.m., processing by candlelight around and into the church, and concluding with Holy Communion. Guests are always welcome.
Easter Sunday: Festival Worship with Holy Communion at 10:15 a.m.

St. Patrick Church, 231 S. Beaver St., York.
HOLY THURSDAY, March 28
Mass of the Lord’s Supper, 7 p.m.
with Adoration until 10:00 p.m.
GOOD FRIDAY, MARCH 29
Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, 3 p.m.
Confessions after 3:00 p.m. Service
HOLY SATURDAY, March 30
Blessing of Easter Food, 11:30 a.m.
EASTER VIGIL, MARCH 30, 7 p.m.
EASTER SUNDAY, March 31
Masses at 7:30, 9 and 11 a.m.

St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. The Easter Vigil Service begins at 8 a.m. outside with the Lighting of the New Fire. At that service, the church has about 30 people receiving baptism and/confirmation.

Yorkshire United Methodist Church, 125 Edgewood Road, Springettsbury Township. Easter Sunday worship celebrations, 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. Sunday School, 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. For details, call 755-4952.

St. Peter’s Lischey’s United Church of Christ, 5671 Lischeys Church Road, Spring Grove. Maundy Thursday, fellowship supper at 6 p.m., worship service at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday, sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., breakfast at 7:30 a.m., inter-generational activities at 9 a.m., worship service at 10:30 a.m. For more info call 225-3932.

Shrewsbury Assembly of God, 234 N. Main St., Shrewsbury. Church will present an illustrated Easter message titled: “HE LIVES” on Sunday, March 31, at 10:15 a.m. This Easter message is from the perspective of the Apostle John, as he is imprisoned on the island of Patmos. For more details, call 235-9300.

First Baptist Church of York, 3375 Druck Valley Road, York.
March 28th: Maundy Thursday Service 7 p.m.
March 31st: Easter Sunday
7 a.m. Sunrise Service. This year the service will be held indoors.
8 a.m. Potluck Breakfast. Please bring something to share. Coffee and other drinks will be provided.
9 a.m. Sunday School
9:40 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt
10:30 a.m. Resurrection Celebration & Baptisms

Round Hill Presbyterian Church, 7362 Church Road, Felton
Thursday at 7 p.m.: Maundy Thursday Service with Communion
Friday from noon to 3 p.m.: Seven pastors will speak on the “Last Words of Jesus Christ While on the Cross.” New Song Community Choir and Guinston Presbyterian Choir along with several others will present special music.
Sunday: Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. followed by a breakfast.
Special Easter Service at 9:30 a.m.

Salem United Church of Christ, 24 Franklin St., Jacobus.
Easter Sunday -
8 a.m. – Holy Communion
8:45 a.m. – Easter Fellowship Breakfast
9:30 a.m. – Easter Egg Roll in the Psalm 23 Prayer Garden or Fellowship Room
10:15 a.m. – The Festival of the Resurrection – The Rev. Fred Walthour will be preaching at both services

Trinity United Church of Christ, 32 W. Market St., York. Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Maundy Thursday, Tenebrae/communion.
Sunday Easter Worship with communion at 10:30 a.m., please bring fresh cut flowers to decorate the cross.

Locust Grove United Church of Christ, 1035 Locust Grove Road, Windsor Township. Service for Easter will be held at 9:15 a.m. A continental breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. in the church basement before the Easter worship service.

New Covenant Community Church

Zion United Church of Christ, 100 Lafayette Street, York. Church will hold a three-hour prayer vigil on Good Friday from noon to 3 p.m. Prayer, meditation, rail communion and private healing (if desired) will take place in Zion’s sanctuary.
Easter Service will be conducted by the Rev. Philip Nace on Sunday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. The service will include Holy Communion and the welcoming of three new members to Zion’s church family, including two young people who have just completed their Confirmation Class.

Hayshire United Church of Christ, 100 Haybrook Drive, Manchester Township. Easter Service at 10:30 a.m. An Easter morning breakfast is planned for 9:15.

St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St., York. Easter Sunday Masses will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the church. It will also hold an Easter Sunday Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima School in Thomasville. A Saturday Easter vigil will begin at 7 p.m.

Maundy Thursday: the Sacrament of Holy Communion, 7 p.m. Good Friday: worship service, 7 p.m. Easter Sunday: Three worship celebrations of the Lord’s resurrection, 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. Sunday School at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown. Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion begins at 7 p.m. Nursery for infants through 3 years old will be provided.
Good Friday service begins at 7 p.m. Nursery for infants through 3 years old will be provided.
Easter Sunday
8 a.m. – Traditional with Communion
9:15 a.m. – SCS for all ages
