Major changes are in store for the Mount Rose Avenue area, one of the most congested stretches of road in York County. Things will be better when the construction is done, but residents should brace themselves for 5 years of traffic tie-ups. Things have to get worse before they can get better. Check out this story at ydr.com.

I understand WHY they are doing the construction there, HOWEVER their main concern should be the intersection @ Rte. 24 (Edgewood Rd./Cape Horn Rd.)North and South and East Prospect Rd./Mt.Rose Ave. It is HORRIBLE, 4 or 5 light cycles @ 5pm North/ South and East/West. It can be backed up clear to Eastern Blvd. and clear past the 24 Split almost to the Rutters!! It takes me 6 min to get to work in the am. and 45 min to get home, ridiculous!
The ruts, bumps and standing water are a hazard especially in winter. What good will this even do except bottle neck @ the intersection anyway… dumb, plain dumb. They need a new pave job and leveling along w/Right turn lanes on Rte.24 North and South.
All I can say is I hope the planning was done correctly and this will be over quick!
We hear you. Mount Rose as well as the Longstown intersection need much work. We’ll be following the plans as they progress.
