A fuel tanker almost hit the bridge in Seven Valleys last week, again highlighting the need to do something about this span.
The driver was visibly shaken, Michael Malone of North Codorus Township wrote in an email. The driver even made the remark to the effect of “One stupid spark would have been all it needed!”
Firefighters with the Community Fire Company of Seven Valleys helped the rig turn around, Malone said.
Officials have proposed several ideas, such as prohibiting truck traffic in Seven Valleys except for local deliveries and installing a sign that says, “If you hit this sign, you will hit the bridge.”
Malone shared photos of what happened last week.
“I hope they can do something about the trestle there,” Malone said during a phone call.
