Seitzville Road bridge repairs coming soon

Some residents who live near the Seitzville Road bridge have been calling to ask when it will be repaired, said Steve Malesker of C.S. Davidson Inc.

The answer is soon.

The span on the border of Codorus and Springfield townships has been closed for nearly a year now after divers discovered damage from Tropical Storm Lee. The footings, which hold up the bridge, were undermined.

By the end of the week, the project — which includes storm cleanup at other bridges as well — will be going out for bid, Malesker said.

One Response to Seitzville Road bridge repairs coming soon

  1. JT says:

I really feel for the Christmas tree farm located just east of the bridge in Springfield Township. Tree sellers have such a limited season in which to earn their annual income…generally from Thanksgiving until the second weekend before Christmas.

Last season the farm owner put up signs directing potential customers to use Main Street of Seven Valleys/Yellow Church Road to Seitzville Road….if the Main Street bridge replacement is not completed by Thanksgiving I don’t know what he’ll do.
