If you haven’t noticed, Easter is early this year. It falls on March 31.
That means Shrove Tuesday — the day to eat fastnachts – is Feb. 12.
Chanceford Presbyterian Church in Lower Chanceford Township will be making fastnachts again this year. It’s a fundraiser so the church can help those in need, said Sueann Workinger, a member of the church.
The church usually whips up between 250 dozen to 300 dozen of the delicacies, she said. They make plain, powdered, sugared and glazed.
“We have a good time with it,” she said.
The cost is $3 for half a dozen. Orders will be taken until Feb. 9. Call 927-9541.
Other groups and grocery stores sell fastnachts, too.
Where will you buy yours? Or will you make your own?
