Some people are well-versed in literature. Some have a treasure trove of knowledge of world history. Others can recite Pi to the 1,000th decimal place. Me? I know lots of Worthless Crap. Lots of it. So much, in fact, that I'm banking that I, along with the help of two friends who know equally as much Worthless Crap, might be able to make $250,000 off of it.
We're going to try out for the second season of VH1's "The World Series of Pop Culture."

After a friend passed along an email listing the casting calls for the show, I got a little excited. "Yeah, I know that Captain Kirk's middle name is Tiberius and that Sting's real name is Gordon. I could kick serious pop culture butt on this show." After a resounding whoopin' that my co-worker Charlotte and I gave friends of ours at a game of Trivial Pursuit 90s Edition, I knew I had found one of my two partners.
We think we've tracked down our third teammate, a college friend of mine, Mike. Together we are unbeatable. Still working on a team name though. That's our number one priority, of course. And then training. Lots and lots of training in preparation for our early February casting call... in Chicago. We wanted to make the far shorter trek to a casting call in NYC, but the freakin' thing already filled up. But we've got dedication and are making this happen regardless.
In the meantime, we've got two months to fill our minds with as much Worthless Crap as imaginably possible. If anyone out there has some good recommendations as to Web sites, games, books etc that might help us out, post a comment.

My DBF and I are planning to try out in Austin and are looking for a 3rd...
And I'd love to see any sites to train up.
Flipside;UpsideDown-Hard! Flipside, a wonderful entertainment reference; is too difficult to read, especially "cold," picking it up later, searching. Easy-Fix: (1)Keep the name "Flipside;" and, simply begin (2) printing it straight through; as all writing in the whole-wide world. Would You Help?
