Musical meltdown

Disney's soundtrack to "High School Musical" was the best-selling album of 2006? Say it ain't so. When did this happen? I don't have anything against the movie sensation that swept the pre-teen nation, but I am disturbed that such a wholesome record topped the charts. Is this the end of hip-hop as we know it? This article opened my eyes and ears to the state of the music industry today. Maybe rap will make a quick comeback when Kanye aka “hip-hop’s savior” and 50 Cent drop their new albums.

Very interesting article about the decline of the rap/ hip hop industry. While I agree that the content of the songs could change, I also think that the music industry needs a new marketing strategy that brings it into the ipod age.
