Adventure though the Alps

we arrived really early this morning to interlaken, switzerland, at the mattenhof resort. the view is unreal. we are surrounded by steep, snow covered mountains. the weather is gorgeous, sunny, high 60's, low 70's. yesterday was an interesting day... we had a 12 hour drive from slovakia to somewhere near zurich, switzerland. we were stopped by drug enforcement and our vehicle and bags were searched by a dog. they found nothing illegal (at least in germany, hah). we played a fun show to an enthusiastic crowd that was actually familiar with the underwater's previous album, so we did an encore that included songs from "bleed me blue".
we bid farewell to our support band, the bianca story... we won't see them for about a week. as luck would have it, we ran out of gas while snaking our way thru the alps. our driver had a little bit of fuel in a gas can and we were able to coast into a station in the wee hours. we finally got to the mattenhof resort somehwere around 3 or so and were greeted by roger "the dodger" who quickly offered us a beer in the club where we'll be playing in a week. after the nightcap we said goodbye to our awesome driver, freddy, who headed back to germany. interlaken is super expensive (over $11 for a value meal at mcdonald's)... it's gorgeous though, and there's tons of outdoor activities to do like rafting, climbing, hang gliding, skydiving, etc... there's a big private party here tonight and we were asked to perform an acoustic set as guests arrived... the party starts at 10pm and ends at 8am. yikes! oh well, we really have no plans for a week.
