Weekend roundup
Thursday night, I headed up to Harrisburg to catch my first show at Dragonfly Club. Openers and Tuscaloosa, Ala. natives the Dexateens exploded onto the stage with a torrent of southern-style tunes. They sounded like a cross between Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jet. The Georgia quintet Drive-By Truckers followed with an equally-impressive set of soulful jams.
Friday revolved around sports instead of Fliff. I sadly looked on as the Flyers were defeated but was consoled when the Fightin' Phils won. I was attacked by a fit of spring cleaning Saturday, but recovered by the next morning.
Sunday, I satisfied my rom-com craving with "What Happens in Vegas." Watching the characters' laugh-out-loud litany of bad life choices exceeded my expectations. Afterward, I did a lap downtown for some frech fries and people watching at the Olde York Street Fair. It was nice to see so many families mingling on the streets.
In the rest of the world Jenna Bush got hitched and Jimmy Fallon is will replace Conan O'Brien.
