Bringing hot pink back.
After watching retro classic "Pretty in Pink" Thursday night, I decided to continue the theme at my pre-wedding manicure Friday. Hot pink is so hot right now.
Armed with neon nails and a dress recycled from a college formal, I was ready to close out Wedding Bonanza 2008.
After a short, but sweet ceremony, it was onto the reception. I made the most of hors d'oeurvre/cocktail hour and then hit the dance floor hard. I was there most of the night, as the groom among others reminded me the next day.
Here are some highlights:
My sister and I broke it down to "Ice, Ice Baby." (If you remember from the video, Vanilla Ice rocked a hot pink shirt with his high top fade. Awesome.)
I realized that I got my rap game from my godfather when he busted out "Rapper's Delight."
The bride and I belted out our traditional rendition of "Love Shack." (There is quite a bit of hot pink in that video, too.)
Saturday, I headed to the family brunch/wedding after party and laughed about the events of the night before.
I spent Sunday sunning and watching soccer. I ended the weekend by wining and dining at White Rose Bar & Grill.
In the rest of the world, local singer DaNica Shirey won the online Total Pop Star competition, "Wall-E" topped the weekend box office and the Screen Actor's Guild might start the next Hollywood strike.
