I am sad to report that the Hess station on Route 83 removed the Blimpie and replaced it with Dunkin' Donuts.
I know, it's a sad day for sub, hoagie, grinder, hero (or what ever you call it) lovers. That was the only Blimpie in York County that I knew of. Sadly, I found out about this from my family, who lives very near a Hess Station in Southern Lancaster County.
Terry, my stepdad, works part-time at the Hess to finish paying off my sister and my college loans...nice guy!
Anyway, my little brothers tell me that they messed with the Boardwalk Fry recipe (probably trying to make the oil less artery clogging) and lost business. Then I drove by the Hess on Route 83 and saw a sign for Dinkin' Donuts. Like Donuts are any better than artery-clogging french fry grease. The subs were healthy man. Not to mention there is already a Maple Donuts (which is 1,000 times tastier) on that very exit.
Grr. I want my Blimpie back.
