'P. Runway' recap

Sports + Fashion = Yiddish

After watching the rerun of last week's episode, I saw that I only missed another cocktail dress challenge. If PR was still on at 10 p.m., I'd be asleep before the whack ish outfits had a chance to saunter down the runway. Help! The show is flat-lining. Someone needs to administer style CPR. Stat.

Thankfully, Wednesday night's episode went in a different, if totally obvious, direction -- to Team USA town. Speed-skater Apolo Ohno told the crew to create an opening ceremonies outfit.

Let me clear my throat
Most of the designers were dumbfounded, not having ever been exposed to sports before. A few somehow got away with designing cocktail dresses again.
*Cough* Daniel. *Cough* Suede.

Sadly, one person knew just as much about The Beatles as he did about sports.
*Cough* Blayne.
I guess you can miss out on a lot of stuff like the Olympics and the Fab Four if you spend all day on a tanning bed. I hope that faking, baking phoney gets canned soon and, when he does, I'm absolutely certain he'll never get a holla from Tim Gunn.

It was fun to watch the designers get on each others nerves, since they've been getting on mine from day one. About half of the show was focused on people crabbing and bellyaching about others.
*Cough* Joe. *Cough* Terri.

The good, the bad and the "meshugener"
Good: I hate myself a little for saying it, but I liked Blayne's ensemble. And Terri should have totally won instead of Korto. PR's resident good girl, Jennifer, got the boot along with her dowdy Holly Golightly duds.

Bad: Stella's bodysuit featured a naval cut out. Jerell's hat was a flop and his own outfit made him look like one of Robin Hood's merry men. Leanne and Keith popped collars.
Why can't we spend more time in the L'Oreal Salon? Just asking.

Meshugener: Thank you, Michael Kors. PR needed more Yiddish. (The word means "crazy person" or "lunatic.")

It's down to the dirty dozen. Check back next week for another recap. For all things Olympic related, check out YDR's O-Zone blog.
