Local rockers Head Case will play in Milwaukee at Harley-Davidson's 105th Anniversary Celebration Labor Day weekend. Watch this video of them rocking out at a recent band practice.
This weekend was one of the few times this summer when I didn't have "A Milli" things to do and places to be. It was kind of nice.
Friday, my girly side got the best of me as it does from time to time. I broke down and saw "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2." It was like "Sex and the City:" The Younger Years except with a bit of city, hardly any sex and an awesome Latina (America Ferrera).
After the flick, my pants traveled to my friend's apartment, where I witnessed Michael Phelps' miracle. That. Just. Happened.
My Olympic obsession goes on
Saturday, I ran some errands, got my hair did and then watched several more hours of the Olympics. After the women's marathon, I headed out to WaterWay with my crew. I decided to celebrate Phelps' eight in '08 and Usain "Lightning" Bolt's 9.69-second 100-meter dash world record with a pitcher. My weekend wrapped up with more Olympics watching. (My electric bill is going to be through the roof this month.) I was able to pull myself away long enough to enjoy the beautiful weather by taking a run and laying out. If I can't get a gold, I may as well get burned bronze.
