"It was so good."
That could be my whole blog, but I guess you need a little more detail.
My friend Kelly and I are both avid runners and exercisers who have slightly fell off the wagon lately and are trying to get back on the healthy eating and exercising track. We decided that for one night we would just be carefree and not worry about what we ate. She has a 10-mile race coming up and I, well, I just want my pants to fit.
Back to the subject of good food.
We met at Lancaster Brewing Co. (469 Eisenhower Blvd in Harrisburg). It's about a 30 minute drive from York. The dimly lit dining room has nearly enclosed booths so you have a very private dining experience.
We both ordered Strawberry Wheat beer (a Lancaster Brewing Co. specialty) and scanned the appetizer menu. I was giddy with excitement seeing unusual but appetizing selections such as Reuben egg rolls and duck lettuce wraps. We chose the black & tan hummus.
I didn't order a sandwich, instead I chose sesame-seared yellow fin tuna with
vegetable stir fry, crisp sticky rice cake, ponzu sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi ($19). Kelly ordered Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with horseradish whipped potatoes, house slaw and remoulade sauce ($20).
I can't speak for her, but my meal was delectable. The tuna, cooked rare, had a a soft tuna flavor and was tender and smooth. The rice cake had a crisp outer shell and had a savory flavor like nothing I have ever tasted. Each bite I took had a little bit of everything and the combination of flavors was very enjoyable. It wasn't a large portion, but it was very filling and beautifully presented.
For dessert (yes, we had dessert) she chose baked rice pudding ($4.50) and I had the molten chocolate cake ($6). I had no complaints the entire evening. The waiter was personable and very helpful. We sat at the table for nearly three hours.
It's definitely worth a trip. Our bill was $60, but worth every valuable cent.

yum, I want to go now.
Thanks for this ... I've been wanting to try LBC out for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. I think the strawberry wheat sounds really good! Have you been to Appalachian Brewing Company? It's pretty wonderful, too!
My fav is the milk stout. i highly recommend it. other top choices: the sesame asian salad with tofu and the hummus plate. Yummm!
