"The Exorcist" is one of the scariest films I've ever seen. I left the theater 20 minutes into a showing of the 2000 re-release and then watched the DVD in 20-minute increments at home with every light in my apartment shining brightly. (The breaks every 20 minutes were so I could calm down and brace myself for the next scene.)
Anyway, the Sci Fi channel will feature four hours of "real" exorcisms tonight with the premiere of the Rev. Bob Larson's new reality show, "The Real Exorcist." Just in time for your Halloween pre-party.

Yeah, it sounds a little odd to have a church be a brew works, but it's true. I was there Friday.
Nate, my husband, and I were visiting friends in Pittsburgh for the weekend. We camped all week, so we were ready for a nice dinner. They took us to The Church Brew Works above the strip in Pittsburgh at 3525 Liberty Ave. Check here to learn more.
We arrived at about 7 p.m. and there was an hour wait on the dining side (the right side of the photo). We took a little pager and were told that if we could find a seat on the left side of the aisle (the bar area), we could eat there. Fortunately for us, we only had to stand at the crowded bar for a bit. A table opened up for six and we quickly grabbed it.
I've got Phillies phever.
Friday I had houseguests and wanted to show them a good time. I decided to take them to Cobblestones, since they're sports enthusiasts. The Flyers game was on, but we were having too much fun catching up to pay much attention. A couple friends joined us for supper and suds and, as always, the grilled cheese was amazing and affordable.
After weeks of making fun of Sarah Palin, "Saturday Night Live" decided it was time to bust on Barack Obama Saturday night. Check out this hilarious skit.
Soda Float = Fierce It's true, y'all! Entertainment Weekly released another episode of my favorite ""America's Next Top Model" spoof. This week, the divas contestants get in a catfight by the pool. Check it out. I'm still rooting for Soda Float -- I'm partial to My Little Pony.

You might think you're watching the same old dramz on this clip of MTV's hit show "The Hills." But don't be fooled. Random dudes in drag pop up at unexpected moments leading to major LOL action. Enjoy and check back tomorrow for the music mix.
Taking it down to Chinatown
I headed from the first capital to the nation's capital last weekend. Back in fall 2006, I lived in Crystal City and interned in D.C., so it was like a homecoming of sorts. I forgot how much I missed The District.
. . . then you shouldn't see this movie! I happen to be a rat aficionado, much to the horror and disgust of my friends and family. I love anything that happens to be rat-related. So when I found out about the movie "Willard," I just had to see it. The movie I saw is a 2003 remake of the 1971 version of the film and stars Crispin Glover (who, by the way, is totally insane).
From 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Yorktowne Hotel Ballroom, 22 area chefs converged to raise money for the local food bank. I enlisted one of my favorite dining companions Erin Marsicano to accompany me to the event.
Hear about our amazing evening....and read after the jump for more!

Girls don't just want to have fun; they want to make clothes, too. Wednesday night's "Project Runway" season five finale was the first all-female runway show in the series' history.

Live performs "Selling the Drama" at the Paradiso in Amsterdam.
York native rockers Live release their first live CD and DVD "Live At The Paradiso -- Amsterdam" Nov. 11 on Vanguard Records. The album was recorded at the Paradiso in Amsterdam on June 30th and July 1.
Wait. This looks like a nice cover. Brad Pitt snapped a picture of Angelina Jolie breastfeeding her new baby. The "private" picture somehow ended up on the cover of W magazine. It's not completely tasteless, but that picture didn't need to go on the front. There were a lot of others to choose from. What do you think?
Happy and sappy movies make me sleepy.
I came down with a slight case of narcolepsy last weekend. I woke up on couches, lawn chairs, park benches and in cars. In between naps, I enjoyed the lovely weather. I figured I should get as much shut eye as I could since baseball playoffs will throw off my sleep schedule this week.

Warm fuzzies
My favorite "P. Runway" moments are watching Tim Gunn interact with the designers outside the work room. It's always a hoot to see him bonding with the "family and friends." I wish Tim Gunn would come by and ring my bell one day.
I was impressed with the designers' looks. After a sub-par season, it seems that they finally pulled out all the stops. The fact that the Parsons posse had to create a bridal look was icing on the cake.
Josh Brolin as George W. Bush? Yes. Oliver Stone's new movie "W." comes out Oct. 17. My first reaction: Too soon. My second reaction: That Comedy Central show "That's My Bush!" was pretty funny and had a better Bush look-a-like.
Read a review of the movie here.

This weekend was epic, but I'll try to squeeze it all into one entry.
Friday, I had my heart set on seeing "Route 30," and was bummed when I got to the Strand and heard it was sold out. Instead, I caught the end of Blind Joe Death's set at the White Rose. (I found out later that "Route 30" is back in York by popular demand Nov. 1 and 2. Score!)
Toot, toot, veep, veep

It cleaned up in the ratings.
The Parsons posse was feeling the pressure on Wednesday's episode of "Project Runway."
Kenley was officially not talking to Leanne (lucky girl) and spent most of the episode brooding in a corner by herself. Jerelle confirmed that he's a few stitches short of a seam by talking to himself and Aunt Jemima.
